Evening Session called to order at 6:35 PM, following a cocktail hour sponsored by Kodak Dental Systems.
37 CAE members were present, as were UConn residents.

Dr. Schleider proposed that a letter supporting the use of CBCT without a certificate of need, be sent to the Department of Public Health. Several members seconded the proposal.

Dr. Amoroso read minutes for Spring 2009 meeting at Il Palio restaurant in Shelton, CT.
CAE funds totaled 9,812.08 as per Treasurer's Report.
New Business…

Dr. Amoroso reported completing paperwork for the AAE's Affiliate Group Federal Tax Exemption Program.

Mention was made that the CTMOM would be on March 12 and 13. Dr. Bruce Cha made an appeal to CAE members and UConn residents to participate. A motion was made and seconded to donate $1000.00 to CTMOM. (The Treasurer reports the donation made on 10/23.)

Dr. Marty Unger stated that Dr. Mark Balson's lecture at the 2009 CSDA Annual meeting at Mohegan Sun was disappointing and recommended that the CAE should be more proactive in screening lecturers who present endodontic topics to CSDA audiences.

Dr. Monty Rackow noted that audits of x-ray machines were being conducted by radiation health physicists within the state. The audits require Connecticut dentists to employ an independent physicist. Rates reportedly charged have been variable.

Dr. Schleider reported that the CAE has initiated an Officers and Director's Insurance Policy under a program sponsored by the AAE.

Dr. Schleider made an appeal for a CAE member to audit the finances of the Association as per our Bylaws. (Dr. Stephen Quatrocelli provided a letter to me on February 1, 2010 stating that he reviewed the financial records of the CAE from May 2007 to October 2009 and found them to be in "accurate, complete, and good order.")

Dr. Schleider discussed tracking CE with a CSDA card scanner. Discussion on the floor arrived at a conclusion that the scanner was not a worthwhile investment.

Dr. Bruce Cha advocated that the CAE renew its contract with the CSDA to continue providing a scrolling banner and link to the AAE on the CSDA website.
(The treasurer reports a $1000.00 fee paid to the CSDA on 10/23)

Dr. Safavi introduced the UConn residents present. Dinner dues for the residents, as usual, were covered by the UConn Endodontic Alumni Association.

Dr. Schleider proposed that the UConn residents present cases at a future meeting.

Dr. George Bruder took the floor at 7:20PM to present a well received lecture titled "See Your Way Into 21st Century Endodontics"
(Since our fall meeting, Dr. Bruder has joined the editorial board of the JOE as an Associate Editor.) Meeting adjourned at 9:18 PM
